We’ll get to the point — a good knife is a kitchen must. If your cutting tools are looking a little worn down or if you’re always in the market for a new gadget, you’re in luck. Today, we spotted a highly-rated Japanese 7-inch cleaver from Imarku that users call “the only knife you need for any kind of cutting.”
Whether you’re chopping, slicing or using the flat side to crush garlic and ginger, this multi-purpose knife does it all. Even better? Our price trackers tell us it’s currently 30% off.
With a hand-sharpened, 2.3 millimeter blade made of high-carbon stainless steel, it’s a durable piece with strong resistance to rust and corrosion. Designed for everyday use in a home kitchen, the 18-degree angle blade is easy to maintain and resharpen on your own, every 2-3 months. The generous width of the blade makes it ideal for all levels of chefs, keeping your fingers away from the sharp side.
“I’m not a knife connoisseur by any means, but I wanted to purchase a good knife that could be used for multiple food prepping needs,” another wrote. “I’ve used it to chop, slice, cut meat, vegetables, and to flatten garlic (several at a time) without any problem.”
The brand recommends keeping it out of the dishwasher and washing it with water and a soapy cloth, then immediately drying it. You should always cut on a wooden or plastic board.
“It took me 45 years to replace our cleaver. Like everything else, technology has evolved alot. Lighter, sharper, easier to hold. If you do a lot of Asian cooking, this knife allows you to do very thin and precise cuts of meat and fish. Just a fantastic tool.” — Craig Kennedy
“It cut through the meats frozen and thawed very well. It’s been a while since I’ve used a butcher’s knife, so I forgot how much force you also need to use to make the knife do it’s job. Once I remembered how to use the knife, I was hooked. I used it for everything I possibly can now. Chopping is sooooo fun with a butcher’s knife.” — Pheap Thlang
“If I where to be stranded on a deserted island and could only bring one thing with me it would be this knife. It cuts EVERYTHING! Meat – yep Veggies – yep Ice cream sandwich – yep The cutting board – yep Functionally this is a great knife. Wicked sharp out of the box. It also looks fricken awesome.” — Bravo Papa
“Great feel in hand. Blade is sharp, right out of the box. The weight & feel is perfect. Since I’ve had this cleaver, I’ve used to dice veggies, slice meat, and chop brisket. People look for cleavers to ‘chop’ bone but don’t underestimate the value of this unit when it comes to onions. Ordered 4 of these for my best friends….they all LOVED it.” — Amazon customer
“My husband is a picky cook with his kitchen tools and he LOVES this knife. It is great quality, easy care and stores in a nice case that came with product. Not too heavy, just perfect for multi use cutting. Not dull, very sharp – good quality” — Tess C
